THE HOSTS

Cierra Jade is a Saskatoon-based confidence coach, speaker and content creator specializing in helping women feel confident in their bodies at any size.

She is also the founder of the online series, Fat Girl in The City, where she tries services and activities that plus-size bodies may feel intimidating to do. This series also sprouted the creation of The Curvy Club YXE - a recently launched, size inclusive group that creates safe spaces for women in Saskatoon to come together for events, connection and community.

Cierra is a huge advocate for size inclusivity in the fashion and fitness industry and beyond.

Shelby is a Saskatoon-based photographer who owns Beginnings & Beyond Photography, & for the last 10 years has specialized in maternity and newborn photography. Through the process of those sessions she quickly realized what a need there was for body empowerment shoots, as clients would come to their maternity shoot or newborn session after just having a baby, & they did not feel their best with their changing body. She quickly learned that her true passion was showing women how strong and beautiful they are, in any stage of their life journey. Not wanting to limit this experience to maternity sessions/newborns only, Shelby shifted her focus and started specializing in boudoir and body empowerment photoshoots, thus The Babe Cave Studio was created. This quickly grew into an online Facebook community as well, with over 6,000 women through her VIP page.

Realizing how empowering it is to see yourself through another person's eyes (aka photography lens), Shelby also created Boudie Events (formally known as her self love events) where she brings together women of all shapes, sizes & race to create a safe space for photoshoots and more importantly friendships to form.

This trip is for any folks who are looking to create new connections as well as deepen the connection with themselves. This is a chance for you to take time for you to fill your cup through new experiences that you may not have had the confidence or opportunity to try before. It’s an excellent way to experience new cultures and perspectives to help create a more open mind. For any plus size babes, travel can feel intimidating, and we want this to be a space where you feel safe to travel, perhaps for the first time!

THE LOCATION

We are heading to the beautiful Hotel Riu Republica - Adults Only Resort located on the Arena Gorda Beach of the Dominican Republic!

A little about the resort - this is an ADULTS only resort on the Arena Gorda Beach of the Dominican Republic with 24-hour All-Inclusive Service. The property has 8 SWIMMING POOLS (& swim up bars!!), AND an area with WATERSLIDES!

For food - they offer NINE amazing restaurants where we can try the best of Italian, Asian, Spanish, Indian and gourmet cuisine. Not to mention the TEN bars located on the property to keep us refreshed!

The Riu hotels always offer the best entertainment from the discotheque, to the Pink White or Neon parties, to the live music and so much more!

You can pay the trip in full OR take part in our PAYMENT PLAN as outlined below (please indicate your choice upon checkout):

PAYMENT PLAN INFO:

  1. $199 WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RSVP’ING TO SECURE YOUR SPOT

  2. 50% OF TRIP PAID BY APRIL 20, 2024

  3. 75% OF TRIP PAID BY JULY 20, 2024

  4. REMAINING BALANCE OF TRIP MUST BE PAID BY OCTOBER 20, 2024

Upon submitting your RSVP, you will be sent a contract to sign, as well as information on how we will be collecting your deposit (e-Transfer and Credit Card payment available). You have 24 hours from submitting your RSVP to pay your deposit; if payment is not received, your spot is forfeited.

**If you have selected a single occupancy room, we will be in touch with you regarding the price difference prior to collecting your deposit.

FAQ

  1. Room Sharing - As mentioned, the pricing is based on double occupancy, however, single occupancy is available for a fee. You will be able to select one of the attendees to room with if you had someone in mind. If you do not have a preference, will pair you up with someone. HOWEVER - if you feel like you are a light sleeper who may be disturbed by having a room mate (coming in late, different sleep patterns, snoring, etc.) you may want to select a single occupancy room. PRICING FOR SINGLE OCCUPANCY ROOM IS $2720

  2. Airport transfers to and from the airport to the hotel is included in the price.

  3. Medical travel insurance is NOT included in the price. Often, your employer benefits will have coverage already for you. If not, we have another option for you ro purchase. Should you choose not to purchase medical insurance, you will need to sign an additional waiver.

  4. One 50 lb checked bag and a personal item (purse, small backpack, tote bag, etc.) are included with the ticket price. Carry ons are an additional fee to be paid by the attendee.

  5. You will receive your flight schedule 4 months prior to departure.

  6. You will receive your boarding pass 24 hours prior to departure.

  7. You will receive your group itinerary 48 hours prior to departure.

  8. It is a direct flight from Saskatoon.

  9. Booking your own excursions - You are welcome to book your own excursions during the trip - however, from past experience we found it is best to wait until we arrive at the resort to sort that out to check everyone’s schedules.

  10. How much money to bring - It really depends on how much shopping/excursions you plan on doing. Most past attendees brought anywhere between $300-$500 USD. USD is the preferred currency in the Dominican Republic.

  11. If you would like a choice in elite seating on the plane, we will provide that information to you as it is an extra fee.
