THE HOSTS

Cierra Jade is a Saskatoon-based confidence coach, speaker and content creator specializing in helping women feel confident in their bodies at any size.

She is also the founder of the online series, Fat Girl in The City, where she tries services and activities that plus-size bodies may feel intimidating to do. This series also sprouted the creation of The Curvy Club YXE - a recently launched, size inclusive group that creates safe spaces for women in Saskatoon to come together for events, connection and community.

Cierra is a huge advocate for size inclusivity in the fashion and fitness industry and beyond.

Shelby is a Saskatoon-based photographer who owns Beginnings & Beyond Photography, & for the last 10 years has specialized in maternity and newborn photography. Through the process of those sessions she quickly realized what a need there was for body empowerment shoots, as clients would come to their maternity shoot or newborn session after just having a baby, & they did not feel their best with their changing body. She quickly learned that her true passion was showing women how strong and beautiful they are, in any stage of their life journey. Not wanting to limit this experience to maternity sessions/newborns only, Shelby shifted her focus and started specializing in boudoir and body empowerment photoshoots, thus The Babe Cave Studio was created. This quickly grew into an online Facebook community as well, with over 6,000 women through her VIP page.

Realizing how empowering it is to see yourself through another person's eyes (aka photography lens), Shelby also created Boudie Events (formally known as her self love events) where she brings together women of all shapes, sizes & race to create a safe space for photoshoots and more importantly friendships to form.

For any plus-size babes, we know travel can sometimes feel intimidating. This trip is intentionally designed to feel safe, supportive, and welcoming, especially for those who may be traveling solo or even traveling internationally for the first time.

This is an ages 19+ trip, and while all adults are welcome, we’ve found the vibe tends to align best with those between 25–45 — social, open-minded, and excited to experience a fun, upbeat girls trip.

THE LOCATION

We are heading to the beautiful Hotel Riu Latino - Adults Only Resort located in Condominio Costa Mujeres in Cancun, Mexico!

The Hotel Riu Latino is located in Condominio Costa Mujeres, one of the most exclusive areas of Cancun.

This all-inclusive hotel in Cancun has more than 550 modern, spacious and comfortable rooms, which have been designed with all the amenities you can imagine to make sure you have a great stay. After getting a good night’s sleep, you can enjoy an American-style buffet breakfast followed by a refreshing dip in one of the 5 incredible outdoor pools, some of which have a swim-up bar or in-water loungers. You can also go to the area reserved for hotel guests on the beach and enjoy your favourite drink in one of the sun loungers. Or try out your adventurous side at the Splash Water World water park!

How to Secure Your Spot

To reserve your spot on the trip, a $250 CAD non-refundable deposit is required at the time of RSVP.

  • Enroll in the payment plan outlined below

Who is this trip for?

This trip is for anyone looking for a judgment-free, fun, social getaway with other like-minded people. If you love meeting new people, laughing a lot, dancing, pool days, late nights, and unforgettable memories — you’ll feel right at home.

This trip is ages 19+. While all adults are welcome, we’ve found the experience tends to resonate best with those between 25–45, simply because the overall vibe, pace, and social energy align really well. That said, it’s truly about mindset more than age.

Is this an active trip?

Yes — this is an active vacation. Resorts involve a fair amount of walking, and between pool hopping, dinners, nightlife, and optional excursions, you can expect to be moving around more than on a typical “sit and relax” trip.

Excursions are optional, but many involve walking or light physical activity. Being comfortable with a moderate activity level will help you fully enjoy the experience.

Is this a retreat?

This isn’t a traditional retreat, but it is a girls trip.

There’s no structured programming, workshops, or required activities — which means you’re completely free to move at your own pace. If you want a quiet morning with a coffee by the pool, time to yourself, or an afternoon relaxing, that’s absolutely okay.

That said, the overall atmosphere of the group tends to be more upbeat and social. Most days include group hangouts, shared meals, music, laughter, and evenings that lean more fun and lively than low-key.

You’re always welcome to join in as much or as little as you’d like — but if you enjoy a vacation that blends downtime with social, energetic moments, you’ll feel right at home.

Will I be sharing a room?

Yes — the trip price is based on double occupancy.

If you’re traveling with someone in mind, you’ll be able to select who you’d like to room with. If you don’t have a preference, we’re happy to pair you with another attendee.

If you’re a light sleeper or know that having a roommate (late nights, different sleep schedules, snoring, etc.) might impact your experience, we highly recommend choosing a single occupancy room.

Are airport transfers included?

Yes — round-trip airport transfers between the airport and the hotel are included in the trip price.

Is medical travel insurance included?

No — medical travel insurance is not included.

Many people already have coverage through their employer benefits. If you don’t, we’ll provide an option for you to purchase insurance separately.

If you choose not to purchase medical travel insurance, you will be required to sign an additional waiver.

What is included in my flight luggage allowance?

Your ticket includes:

  • One checked bag (up to 50 lbs)

  • One personal item (purse, small backpack, or tote)

Carry-on luggage is not included and may be added for an additional fee, payable by the attendee.

When will I receive my flight details?

  • Flight schedule: approximately 4 months prior to departure

  • Boarding pass: 24 hours before departure

  • Full group itinerary: 48 hours before departure

Is the flight direct?

Yes — this trip includes a direct flight from Saskatoon.

Can I choose my seat on the plane?

Yes — elite seat selection is available for an additional fee. We’ll provide all the details if you’d like to upgrade your seating.

Can I book my own excursions?

Absolutely — you’re welcome to book your own excursions.

That said, based on past trips, we recommend waiting until we arrive at the resort so we can coordinate schedules and ensure you don’t miss group activities you’d like to attend.

How much spending money should I bring?

This varies depending on shopping, excursions, and personal preferences. Most past attendees brought $300–$500 USD.

USD is the preferred currency in Mexico.

Is the deposit refundable?

The $250 deposit is non-refundable. Your deposit secures your spot on the trip and allows us to move forward with flights, accommodations, and group planning.

If your plans change and you’re unable to attend, the deposit cannot be refunded. We strongly recommend reviewing our cancellation policy in the contract that will be sent to you so you are fully aware of our policies.
